The Friends of the Pemberville Library Events

Christmas Candlelight Tour

Each year the library sells tickets for the Christmas Candlelight Tour of Homes sponsored by the Friends of the Pemberville Public Library. The tour visits homes in the community and refreshments are served after the tour of the library. The non-refundable tickets are $7.50 each and are available at the Pemberville Public Library. The tour begins at 6:00 pm. each evening at the fire station parking lot on Front Street. Participants are asked to be at the fire station by 5:45 so that the Friends can arrange car pools. Tickets cannot be reserved in advance, so watch for when they go on sale.

Wooden miniatures of the Pemberville Village

Wooden miniatures of the Pemberville Village Series are available at the Pemberville Public Library and Riverbank Antiques. The buildings available in the series are the Pember-Furry House, Pemberville Elementary School, Old Schoolhouse, Beeker's General Store, City Hall and the Depot. Accessories available are the Village Limit Sign, a tree, and the City Hall Flag Pole. We now have the Pemberville Water Tower, American Legion Hall, and three churches. Supplies of some pieces are limited. This project is sponsored by the Friends of the Pemberville Library. Click here to see the complete collection and prices of miniatures.

About The Friends of the Pemberville Library

The purpose of the "Friends" group is to focus attention on library services and needs. We also work to influence gifts of library materials and endowment and perform volunteer services for special library and "Friends" projects.

Fund raising is one of the Friends most important functions. Numerous projects are held throughout the year. These include the Christmas Tour of Homes, Silent Auction of Wreaths, Book Sales, membership fees, and many others. Friends of the Library also sell miniature wooden replicas of Pemberville buildings. These are pictured on this page.

Friends fund raising projects have paid for the following:
  • The parking lot
  • The lighted sign in front of the Library
  • Duplicator, scanner and Digital Camera
  • And many others!
Friends represent the library at many community functions, including the Pemberville Fair and Autumn Festival. Many library functions, like Summer Reading Program, are sponsored by the Friends.

Friends Membership Applications can be found at the Library. From a $2.00 individual membership, $5.00 family membership, up to a $100+ Library Fellow, there are levels to fit everyone. The Friends of the Library are an important link between the community and the Library. Join today!
