February 25, 2025
The meeting was called to order at 4:20 pm at the Stony Ridge Branch Library by Board president, John Selzer.
Roll Call: Members present were Mary Jo Bish, Ron Eckel, Steve Gross, Sharon Nigh, David St. Louis, and John Selzer. Amber Stark was excused. Also present were Julie Getz 9Fiscal Officer), Ariel Jacobs (Director), and Laura King (Secretary).
Secretary's Minutes: David made and Mary Jo seconded a motion to approve the Secretary's minutes. All ayes recorded.
Fiscal Officer's Statements: The monthly allocations were Gross $37,224.68 minus Woodlink $1,513.36 leaving a Net of $35,709.32. The Nexus payment will be about $14,000 for the first half of the year and about $19,000 for the last half. Steve made and David seconded a motion to accept the permanent appropriations. All ayes recorded. Sharon and Mary Jo seconded a motion to approve to accept a reimbursement for tree cutting at Stony Ridge from Vernita Booth for $850.00, General Donations of $26.25, and Adult Workshop donations of $50.00. All ayes recorded.
Director's Report: Amazon Business Prime will continue to be free to Institutional members thanks to Ohio Library Council. There is no update on progress of the OPLIN website. The Flag Box project is still awaiting Boy Scout Council approval for Connor's eagle Scout badge. When the approval is the given the project will be promoted publicly. Ariel has been working on updating job descriptions. The Summer Reading Program 2025 is Color Our World. Staff has begun plans for adult and children's programs. Ariel has contacted Cintas for prices of cleaning supplies to compare them to Brown Supply, our present supplier. Tree removal and updated lighting at Stony Ridge have been completed. The paintings by Gerald Hill have been hung in the Community Room at Stony Ridge. Laura will look for information on the buildings depicted for descriptions to be placed next to the paintings. Ariel mentioned several kits received by the library that because of their size, cost and storage requirements make them difficult to display. David made ad Steve seconded a motion to accept the Director's Report. All ayes recorded.
Old Business
Cataloger's Job Description: Steve made and Sharon seconded a motion to approve the cataloger(full-time) description. All ayes recorded.
Pemberville Community Room Quotes: The discussion of quotes was tabled until the April meeting.
New Business
Board Resolution: Steve made and Mary Jo seconded a motion that hourly employees will only be paid for hours they are scheduled to work unless authorized by the Director. All ayes recorded.
Trustees Workshop: March 8, 2025 from 10 am-3 pm. Please let Ariel know by March 28, 2025, to register.
NW Ohio Trustee Dinner: April 9, 2025, 6 pm-8 pm at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green. Let Ariel know by March 28, 2025, to register.

Compensation for Book Buddies Coordinator: Steve made and David seconded a motion to pay Julianna Cjaka $14.77 per hour for 20 hours a per week. All ayes recorded.
Announcements: Community reads: The discussion book is "The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood is Causing an Epidemic of Mental illness" BY Jonathan Haidt.
Adjournment: David made and Mary Jo seconded a motion to adjourn at 6:00 pm. All ayes recorded.
