Board of Trustees
March 18, 2025
President John Selzer called the meeting to order at 4:30 pm.
Roll Call: Members present were Mary Jo Bish, Ron Eckel, Steve Gross, Sharon Nigh, David St. Louis, and John Selzer. Amber Stark was excused. Also present were Julie Getz (Fiscal officer), Ariel Jacobs (Director), and Laura King (Secretary).
Secretary's Minutes: Mary Jo made and Steve seconded a motion to approve the Secretary's minutes as corrected. All ayes approved.
Fiscal Officer's Statements: the monthly allocations were Gross $29,223.11 minus Woodlink $1,515.36 with a net of $27,707.75. Financial Statements for January and February 2025 show a deficit of $36,000. The Amended Certificate is still incorrect. There is a total of $41,800 in addition to the Permanent Appropriations listed. Ron made and Mary Jo seconded a motion to decide whether to add this amount to the Permanent Appropriations at the next Board meeting. All ayes recorded. David made and Steve seconded a motion to approve the transfers.
Director's Report: The OPLIN website is almost complete. Ariel has been working on the annual State Report and it is almost complete. The missing oral histories of Pemberville Library veterans and older citizens have all been located by NORWELD. There is no update on the request for quotes for cleaning supplies from Cintas and Nichols. The Sarver and Sons 2025 mowing contract is updated and should be signed by April 1. Mary Jo made and David seconded a motion to accept the Director's Report. All ayes recorded.
Old Business
NW Ohio Trustee Dinner: April 3, 2025 from 6-8 pm. Fee $50.00. Deadline March 28, 2025.
New Business
Director's Job Description: David made and Steve seconded a motion to approve the Director's Revised job Description. All ayes recorded.
Fiscal Officer's Job Description: Ron made and Mary Jo seconded a motion to table this until next month because the copies were not printed completely. All ayes recorded.
Groundskeeper's Outdoor Solutions LLC Quote: Steve made and Mary Jo seconded a motion to accept the quote for $575 to clean up flower beds on Front Street. All ayes recorded.
Employee Health Insurance: Steve made and Mray Jo seconded a motion to accept Option 2 of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield insurance for employees. All ayes recorded..
Aprile Programs: Available on handout.
Announcements: The Pemberville Friends 2025 garden tour has been cancelled due to the lack of confirmed gardens.
Steve made and Ron seconded a motion to make a one-time exemption to the public participation rules. All ayes recorded.
Adjournment: Mary Jo made and Ron seconded a motion to adjourn the meeting. All ayes recorded.
the board heard comments from two employees, Laurel Rakas and Cherie Runnels concerning Board action taken at the March 2025 meeting. Steve made and Mary Jo seconded a motion to rescind the resolution made at the last Board meeting and to discuss what should be done at the April 2025 meeting. All ayes recorded.
