Pemberville Public Library
Board of Trustees Meeting
May 10, 2025
The meeting was called to order by John at 4:30 pm.
Roll Call: Board members present were Ron Eckel, Steve Gross, Sharon Nigh, David St. Louis, and John Selzer. mary Jo Bish and Amber Stark were excused. Also present were Julie Getz (Fiscal Officer), Ariel Jacobs (Director), and Laura King (Secretary).
Secretary's Minutes: Steve made and Sharon seconded a motion to approve the minutes as corrected. The motion was carried with Steve, John, Ron, and Sharon voting aye. David abstained.
Fiscal Officer's Statements: the monthly allocation was $34,900.05 minus Woodlink $1,515.36 for a net of $33,384.69. Sharon made and Steve seconded a motion to approve the Fiscal Officer's report. All ayes recorded. David made and Ron seconded to accept the Estimated Resources for 2026. Steve made and John seconded a motion to require the Board president's signature on bills $2,000 and above. All ayes recorded. Ron made and Sharon seconded a motion to accept memorials and donations for the following:

Director's Report
OPLIN Website: It's almost ready to launch and training will begin soon.
Ohio Digital Library Updates: The number of holds allowed per library card has been reduced to 20. The patron must have under 20 reserves before more can be added.
Notary: Ariel is not renewing her notary stamp.
Covid Tests: When the ones we have are gone we will not be providing anymore.
New Database: Global Road Warrior is replacing A to Z World Foods beginning June 1, 2025. Steve made and David seconded a motion to accept the Director's report. All ayes recorded.
Old Business
House Bill 96: The Ohio Senate is currently working on it's first draft of the House Bill. OLC is asking only Directors, Fiscal Officers, and Trustees to reach out to the Senate at this time to urge them to restore the PLF to 1.75 percent as the Governor has proposed.
New Business
EPA: Water samples for all locations have been collected. Results are expected in 30 days. Ron made and David seconded a motion to approve radon testing for $1,460.00 by Burmbaugh-Herrick, Inc for all three locations. All ayes recorded.
Wood County Board of Elections Use of Luckey Meeting Room: Rules for the use of the meeting room and kitchen will be posted in the room. The Election Board will be charged $40 for the use of the room with no deposit necessary.

Announcements:
Woodlink Budget Commission Breakfast: Friday, May 30, 9am at the Wood County Public Library meeting room. the Director and Fiscal Officer will attend. Deadline to attend is May 26.
Adjournment: Steve made and David seconded a motion to adjourn at 5:25 pm. All ayes recorded.
