BOARD OF TRUSTEES

JANUARY 20, 2026

The meeting was called to order by President, John Selzer, at 4:33 pm.

Roll Call: Members present were Mary Jo Bish, Ron Eckel, Steve Gross, Loretta Jones, Sharon Nigh, John Selzer and Amber Stark. Also present were Julie Getz (Fiscal Officer), Ariel Jacobs (Director), and Laura King (Secretary).

Secretary's Minutes: Ron made and Sharon seconded a motion to accept the Secretary's minutes. All ayes recorded.

Fiscal Officer's Statements: The monthly allocation was Gross $32,492.75, minus Woodlink $1,485.00 for a Net of 31,007.75. Julie is waiting for the year end to close. Sharon made and Mary Jo seconded a motion to accept the Treasurer's statements, supplemental transfers, memorials and donations of needle felting program $42.00, 3'd Thursday program $18.00, Meeting Room security deposit donation $40.00, general donation $7.55and Roger Kahlenberg memorial $2,500. All ayes recorded.

Director's Report

Glowforge at Luckey: The Glowforge is still not operational. The problem seems to be with the carbon dioxide or power supply which makes it dangerous for staff to repair. Ariel recommended that we purchase a new Glowforge model since the staff and public know how to use it. The number of uses compared to the cost of the Glowforge was discussed.

Maternity Leave: Ariel is working to get daily operations and noes ready before she leaves. Maternity leave will begin March 31, 2026. More updates to come.

American Legion Post 240 Meeting: Ariel attended the Legion and Auxiliary meeting. She was unable to give them the to the Community Room because a special key blank had to be ordered. The Legion will get the keys in February along with the required agreement.

Stony Ridge Pancake Breakfast: The Friends made $87.10. They are planning another in the spring.

BGSU Service Project: BGSU students will be painting the Stony Ridge Community Room and installing new window blinds in February. Ron made and Sharon seconded a motion to approve the Director's Report. All ayes recorded.

OLD BUSINESS

Induction of New Trustee: Cherie Runnels inducted Loretta Jones as a new trustee for her first term effective January 1-December 31, 2029.

Nominations for new Board President to replace Steve: Ron nominated Sharon and she declined. John nominated Ron and he declined. Sharon nominated John and he accepted. Mary Jo made and Sharon seconded a motion to accept John as President of the Board. All ayes recorded.

EPA: Brumbaugh-Herrick has installed devices for Stony Ridge and Luckey radon long-term (90 days) testing. Updates will be made after completion of the tests.

NEW BUSINESS

Board Photo for posting on website: This will be done at the March meeting.

Glowforge: Questions about use in relation to price resulted in a decision to do month to month discussions.

Pemberville Front Street garden space: Cleaning that area will be done in March or early April.

Mary Jo made and Loretta seconded a motion to have Groundskeepers do the work for $3,036.75. All ayes recorded.

Review and discussion of bylaws: This was tabled until the February meeting.

4th Quarter Circ: Circ is positive.

4th Quarter Monthly Revenues: Now in the black.

Community room usage: Showed an increase this year.

Programs: Please see the January 2026 calendar.

Announcements: Community Reads is taking a break this year.

Sharon made and Mary Jo seconded a motion to enter Executive Session and allow Ariel, Julie and Laura to remain. All ayes recorded.

Roll Call: Members: Bish, Eckel, Gross, Jones, Nigh, Selzer and Stark. Other: Getz, Jacobs and King.

Amber made and Mary Jo seconded a motion to grant a 4 percent pay raise across the board. All ayes recorded.

Adjournment: Mary Jo made and Amber seconded a motion to adjourn at 7:00 pm.
